The Basics

What Are SAP Implementation Services?

SAP implementation services are the consulting and technical work that turns an SAP licence into a system your teams can use every day.

Buying SAP gives you software. Implementation decides how purchase orders get approved, how stock is valued, how GST invoices are generated and how month-end closes. A good SAP implementation services provider spends the early weeks listening, not configuring.

2027

SAP's mainstream maintenance for ECC 6.0 (Business Suite 7) ends at the end of 2027. Optional extended maintenance runs to 2030 at extra cost.

Why SAP projects go wrong, and how we prevent it

Common cause What we do
01
Requirements never written down
Fit-to-standard workshops, every decision recorded
02
Too much custom code
Standard SAP first, extensions kept outside the core
03
Dirty data loaded at go-live
Cleaning and trial loads before cutover
04
GST and e-invoice left till the end
Indian compliance scoped from day one

Straight Answers

Who We Are, and Who We're Not

There are many SAP implementation companies in India, and the word "partner" gets used loosely. Here is exactly where OGEN stands, so you can compare us fairly.

What we do

Services we deliver ourselves
  • Implement SAP Business One and SAP S/4HANA, from requirement study to go-live
  • Plan and carry out ECC to S/4HANA migration
  • Set up India localisation: GST, e-invoicing, e-way bill and TDS
  • Build integrations, reports and add-ons with our in-house development team
  • Provide AMC and support for companies already running SAP

What we are not

So nobody has to guess
  • We are not an SAP partner or reseller, and we don't sell SAP licences
  • You buy licences directly from SAP or from an authorised SAP partner. We work alongside them.
  • We earn no commission on licences, so if SAP isn't right for you, we'll tell you
  • We don't publish made-up success rates or guaranteed timelines. Every estimate comes after discovery.

Choosing the Right Product

SAP Business One vs SAP S/4HANA

Both are SAP ERP products, but they're built for very different companies. Choosing the wrong one is the most expensive mistake you can make before a project even starts.

Large and complex enterprises

Usually much longer; large rollouts often a year or more

Choose Business One if…

You've outgrown Tally or basic accounting and need one system that connects every department, without enterprise-level cost.

Choose S/4HANA if…

You run many plants or legal entities, need group consolidation and complex costing, or are moving off SAP ECC.

This is a general comparison. Licence terms, editions and features change with each release, so always confirm current terms with SAP or an authorised SAP partner before you decide.
For companies still on SAP ECC

ECC Support Is Ending.
Pick Your Route to S/4HANA.

In February 2020, SAP announced that mainstream maintenance for SAP Business Suite 7, which includes ECC 6.0, would run until the end of 2027. Extended maintenance to the end of 2030 is available, but at extra cost. An S/4HANA move involves data, custom code, interfaces and people, so the companies that start assessing early usually have the most options.

How We Work

How Our SAP Implementation Services Run, Phase by Phase

Our process follows SAP Activate, so it lines up with SAP's own documentation and with any licensing partner involved. Every phase ends with a written deliverable you can review before the next one starts.

Phase 01: Discover Output: fit assessment

Is SAP the Right Choice?

We meet your management and department heads to understand volumes, locations, compliance needs and pain points. Then we give you an honest view of whether SAP Business One, S/4HANA or a non-SAP option fits better, and why.

Business CaseProduct FitInitial Estimate
Phase 02: Prepare Output: project charter

Plan, Team & Governance

Scope, roles, timelines and the change-request process go into a written statement of work. We name the people on both sides, set the meeting rhythm and agree how decisions get escalated.

Statement of WorkProject PlanChange Control
Phase 03: Explore Output: fit-gap list

Fit-to-Standard Workshops

Department by department, we show how standard SAP handles each process and note where it doesn't fit. Every gap gets a decision: change the process, configure around it, or build an extension. Each decision is recorded with the reason.

Process DesignGap DecisionsData Plan
Phase 04: Realize Output: tested system

Configure, Integrate, Migrate, Test

The system is configured in short cycles with regular demos. Integrations and reports are built and data is loaded in trial runs. Testing ends with user acceptance testing, where your own staff run real scenarios such as a full purchase-to-pay cycle and a GST invoice.

ConfigurationMock Data LoadsIntegration TestingUAT
Phase 05: Deploy Output: go-live sign-off

Training & Cutover

Role-based training with step-by-step user guides, a rehearsed cutover plan, final data load and balance reconciliation. Go-live happens only when your team signs off that they're ready.

End-User TrainingCutover PlanReconciliation
Phase 06: Run Output: stable operations

Hypercare, Then AMC

After go-live comes a hypercare period, agreed in the contract, while the first month-end and first GST filing run on the new system. After that, AMC support takes over for day-to-day help, changes and improvements.

Why OGEN

Why Pick OGEN as Your SAP Implementation Services Provider?

We won't claim to be the biggest of the SAP implementation companies in India. What we offer is advice that isn't tied to licence sales, developers in the same office as the consultants, and contracts that say exactly what you're getting.

01
Our biggest difference

No licence commission.
No push.

Because we don't resell SAP, we have no reason to push more users, a bigger edition or SAP itself. If Business One is enough, we'll say so. If you'd be better off without SAP, we'll say that too.

  • Independent: not an SAP reseller
  • SAP Business One and SAP S/4HANA
  • Implementation, migration and AMC
  • In-house integration and app development
  • In business since 2013, based in Noida
Talk to Our SAP Team
02
Standard first

Less custom code, easier upgrades

Every customisation must be maintained and retested at each upgrade. We use standard SAP wherever it fits and keep extensions outside the core.

03
In-house development

Consultants and developers under one roof

Building software since 2013. Integrations, portals and mobile apps are built by people who work next to your SAP consultants.

04
India context

Built around Indian compliance

GST, e-invoicing, e-way bills, TDS and Tally data are planned in the first workshop, not a month before go-live.

05
Clear contracts

Scope and changes in writing

A statement of work lists modules, deliverables, responsibilities on both sides and how change requests are priced.

SAP Implementation Services FAQs

What are SAP implementation services?

SAP implementation services are the consulting and technical work needed to put an SAP system into everyday use: understanding your processes, mapping them to SAP's standard functions, configuring the system, moving your data, building integrations and reports, testing with your users, training them, going live, and supporting the system afterwards.

Buying the licence is a separate step. The licence gives you the software; implementation decides whether it actually works for your business.

About OGEN

An Independent SAP Implementation Services Provider in India

OGEN Infosystem Pvt Ltd is a Noida-based software and consulting company, in business since 2013, that provides independent SAP implementation services to businesses across India.

As an SAP implementation services provider, we cover SAP Business One implementation, SAP S/4HANA implementation, ECC to S/4HANA migration, GST and India localisation, integrations, custom reports and add-ons, and SAP AMC support for existing users.

We are not an SAP partner or reseller. Clients buy licences directly from SAP or from an authorised SAP partner, and we deliver the consulting, configuration, data migration, testing, training and support work.

Among SAP implementation companies in India, our approach is to keep SAP as close to standard as possible, plan for Indian compliance from the first workshop, and put scope and responsibilities in a statement of work before the project starts. For businesses that don't need SAP, we also implement other ERP platforms and build custom ERP systems, so our product recommendation stays neutral.
